CPS training
This program is provided to existing or newly formed peer support teams. Members will be trained in basic mental health intervention and terminology. The importance of confidentiality, respect, self-awareness, and communication to Peer Support are reviewed, as well as specific training on a variety of mental health challenges that present in the first responders. CPS training is delivered and prepared by a clinical psychologist, thus ensuring accurate clinical information support by best practices. The program is provided in a blended learning format which allows for flexibility in training people on varying shifts and trainees can work at their own pace. There is a testing component requirement to ensure good retention of information.
CPS Clinician delegates
This program requires the coordinated efforts of skilled peer support workers and a clinical team. CPS clinician delegates are trained in the CPS program and are continuously supported in the running of the program. For services and organizations who have an established relationship with a local clinical team, they can be supported in implementing a CPS program in your area.
